We are a non-profit community based BATON TWIRLING CLUB located in Ajax, Ontario, Canada. We have been baton twirling since 1995! This is our 12th year of operation. We have approximately 40 athletes in our club, 5 fantastic baton twirling coaches (certified OBTA instructors) and 2 wonderful dance instructors. We all agree that:

There is no other sport more fun than this! If you are not familiar with this fantastic sport, let us brief you on this: Baton twirling is simply a sport that combines gymnastic and dance techniques with baton twirling skills.
CLUB HISTORY
The Ajax Comets Baton Club was formed under the direction of Denise Cooper Bradley in 1995, sporting 23 members. Over the years we have been very fortunate to have several different coaches come and go enriching our athletes' lives and leaving behind little bits of themselves. In our fifth year, Tonya Stephenson Lee joined us as a individual coach as well as a dance instructor. In our sixth year, Andrea Chisholm Reid joined us as a competitive coach. In our 9th year Elaina Stephenson Frank came aboard to coach some of our individual athletes, and in year 10 we had our first Comet athlete become a coach as we welcomed Sarah Boyd to our coaching staff in the recreational program! In our 11th season we welcomed Natalie P. to our recreational coaching team. We are now in our 12th season and going strong!
Last season year we underwent our most fundamental changes. Due to the birth of her son Luke our club Founder Denise Bradley decided to focus on her growing family and she passed the club along to eager coaches Tanya Lee and Andrea Reid. After one fantastic season we are exited to get the 2006-2007 season started and see all the new and exiting accomplishments the club to reach!
We must not forget to mention that our club has also a cute mascot-TWIRLY the COMET. Our club held a contest within the club during the 1999-2000 season to pick our club mascot. Natalie P. was the winner. You can see her creation appear on these pages. Twirly travels with us to all competitions and functions and gives us support. And moreover, our club colour is PURPLE. The first year our athletes voted on a club colour and purple won.

The Ajax Comets Baton Club provides lessons in baton twirling for children ages four and up. We offer several different types and styles of lessons.
Our club participates in local parades and has shows for local senior citizen homes. We also have a very exiting year end recital - where athletes can show off their talent, and have a fantastic good time. Please click here to view the Recital award winners over the years. Our season starts in late septemberand ends in June with a end year party and a recital.
In addition, some of our athletes compete in baton twirling competitions ---local and province-wide--- where they compete for ribbons, medals and trophies.
